The tax category defines the type of tax used for a specific legislation. Tax categories are part of the tax determination rules.
This is a mandatory tax tracked in the ledger. It displays as a subline for each tax category on a document.
For French and German legislations, Sage delivers the VAT tax for purchasing and sales documents.
If no category is assigned when importing, such as for US legislation, taxes are imported in the Placeholder category.
Create a tax category
If needed, you can create a tax category by defining a unique name and ID. The description is optional.
Edit or delete a category
If a tax category is in use on a document or as part of a tax determination rule, it cannot be edited or deleted.
