Country group

Country groups facilitate tax determination rules. Countries in the same group share tax determination rules so you don't need to set up rules for each country.

Sage delivers 3 country groups:

  • European Union (EU)
  • Countries outside EU (Others)
  • All countries

You can add countries to either group or create a new country group to meet your business needs. When creating groups, remember that it's important to consider the tax implications and not simply the geographic regions.

Create a country group

  1. Select Create.
  2. The Active switch is ON by default.
  3. Enter a name for the group. The name can include alphanumeric and special characters.

The group name displays on the Tax determination rules page in the Lines grid for the Origin and Destination country group columns.
  4. Enter an ID for the group.
  5. Enter a description for the group.
  6. In the Select countries window, select the countries to include in the group.
This list of countries available is determined by those delivered by Sage and any that you added on other pages.

Edit a country group

You can add or remove a country from a group.

  1. Select the group from the Selection list.
  2. To remove a country, select the X next the name. Alternately, you can select the Search icon to open a selection window to clear the checkboxes next to each country.
  3. To add a country or countries, select the Search icon.
  4. In the list that opens, select the checkbox in the first column to include those countries.

Delete a country group

Deleting a country group is not recommended.
