Currency

Use this page to perform the following actions:

  • Define the currencies you need to use in the software.
  • Define the exchange rates and display the exchange rate history in a grid and in a graph.
  • Use a currency converter.

A set of currencies is available.

Create a currency

Define the main characteristics of the currency

  1. On the General tab, select Add. The Active switch is automatically turned ON.
  2. Add a Flag.
  3. Enter the following information:

    • Name
    • ISO 4217 code
    • Symbol
  4. Decimal digits and Rounding are automatically defined by the ISO 4217 code.

  5. Select Save.

Define the exchange rate

You can define an exchange rate:

  • From a given source currency
  • To a given destination currency
  • At a given date

This means that for the same destination currency, you can associate different rates at different dates.

Add an exchange rate line in the grid

  1. On the Exchange rates tab, select Add from the grid.
  2. On the Add exchange rate panel, select:

    • The Destination currency
    • The Rate date
  3. Enter the Rate. You can enter up to 10 decimal places.
  4. Select OK.
An inverse exchange rate is automatically calculated and added to the Exchange rates grid for the destination currency. If an inverse exchange rate for that date already exists, you can select which rate to use.

View the most recent exchange rates

Go to the General tab.

The Current exchange rates panel displays the exchange rates applicable today.

View the exchange rates history

Select a destination Currency.

The grid and the graph display the exchange rates history.

To apply rate values filters to the graph, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Open filter icon from the graph.
  2. On the Filters panel, turn the Exchange rates switch ON.
  3. Enter a minimum value and a maximum value.
  4. Select Apply.

Display converted amounts on the fly

On the General tab, in the Converter panel, the source currency is automatically displayed.

  1. Enter the amount you want to convert.
  2. Select a destination currency.

The converted amount is displayed.

Edit a currency

Edit the main characteristics of the currency

  1. Select the currency from the Selection panel.
  2. Make the changes as needed on the General tab.
  3. Select Save.

Edit the currency exchange rate

You cannot directly edit an existing exchange rate. You must add a line for the same date with a different rate:

  1. On the Exchange rates tab, select Add from the grid.
  2. On the Add exchange rate panel, select:

    • the Destination currency
    • the Rate date
  3. Enter the Rate.
  4. Select OK. A warning message is displayed if you already have a rate for the same date.
  5. Select OK to confirm.

Delete a currency

Delete or deactivate the currency

  1. Select the currency from the Selection panel.
  2. Select Delete or turn the Active switch OFF on the General tab.

Delete the currency exchange rate

On the Exchange rates tab, select Delete from the grid.

If an associated inverse exchange rate exists, you can select to keep or delete the inverse rate.
