Field descriptions: Time tracking

This page describes the fields for the Time tracking page. The fields in each section are listed in alphabetical order.

Criteria block

Field Description
From released item
To released item

The finished item name. The released item is defined as a bill of material.

Enter or select the same item code for the From released item and To released item fields to filter for all production operations to track for a single released item.

Enter or select the required item codes to include all production operations to track for a range of released items.

Leave blank to include all production operations to track for all released items.

From work order number
To work order number

The work order reference.

Enter or select the same work order reference for the From work order number and To work order number fields to include all production operations to track for a single work order.

Enter or select the required work order references to include all production operations to track for a range of work orders.

Leave blank to include all production operations to track for all work orders.

From work order start date
To work order start date

The planned production start date.

For a single day, enter or select the same date for the From start date and To start date fields.

To include all operations to track for a range of production start dates, enter or select the dates.

Leave blank to include all production operations to track for all work orders.

Site

The production site code.

Leave blank to include all production sites.

Status

The current status or progress of the production operations.

Completed: Production operations tracked in full.

In progress: Operations with one or more tracked quantities from production.

Pending: Operations awaiting tracked quantities from production.

Leave blank to include all production operations to track for all work orders.

You can track production operations when work orders are at status Completed, In progress, and Pending.

Work order operations grid

The list of operations to track for work orders in production, filtered from the selection criteria in the Criteria block.

Field Description
Actual quantity

The quantity processed during the Actual run time tracked for the operation sequence number.

The quantity is expressed in the Released quantity defined for the work order.

Actual resource

The individual resource ID assigned to the operation sequence number.

If a resource group is assigned to the operation sequence number, the resource ID from the assigned resource group.

You can change the default resource if a different resource was used for or performed the production operation.

Actual run time

The actual time the resource was used for or performed the operation sequence number.

The time is expressed in the Run time unit defined for the operation sequence number.

Actual setup time

The actual time taken to prepare the machine, tool, labor resource, or resource group assigned to perform the operation sequence number before production actually started.

The time is expressed in the Setup time unit defined for the operation sequence number.

Capability level

The minimum level of expertise needed to perform the operation sequence number.

The level reflects the expected behaviors, practices, and processes required to reliably and sustainably perform the operation sequence number.

Completed

Indicates if the resource completed the operation sequence number. No more time should be tracked for any resource for the operation sequence number.

The Completed quantity and the Planned quantity can be different.

Completed quantity

The quantity tracked for the operation sequence number, so far.

The quantity is expressed in the Released quantity defined for the work order.

Description

The production operation name.

Number The work order reference.
Operation number

The operation sequence number or the stage of production in the routing.

Planned quantity

The planned quantity to process for the operation sequence number.

The quantity is expressed in the Released quantity defined for the work order.

Planned run time

The time planned for the resource to be used for or to perform the operation sequence number. Visibility of the planned time is useful for comparing with the Actual run time tracked.

The time is expressed in the Run time unit defined for the operation sequence number.

Planned setup time

The time planned to prepare the machine, tool, labor resource, or resource group assigned to perform the operation sequence number before production actually starts. Visibility of the planned time is useful for comparing with the Actual setup time tracked.

The time is expressed in the Setup time unit defined for the operation sequence number.

Released item

The finished item code.

The item is defined as a bill of material.

Released item name

The finished item name.

The item is defined as a bill of material.

Status

The current status or progress of the work order operation sequence number.

Completed: The operation sequence number is tracked in full.

In progress: Tracking has been entered for the operation sequence number. It is not tracked in full.

Pending: No tracking has been entered for the operation sequence number.

Dimensions window

Defines attributes and dimensions that can be used to aggregate financial information for analytical purposes.

You can only select dimensions and attributes that already exist.

Field Description
Channel

Identifies a channel dimension.

Department

Identifies a department dimension.

Employee Identifies an employee attribute.
Project

Identifies a project attribute. When you include a project, the Task field is available.

Region Identifies a region dimension.
Task If you selected a project, identifies a task. Tasks are linked to projects.

New work order operation panel

Displayed when you select Add operation from the Work order operations grid.

Field Description
Actual quantity The quantity tracked against the operation, expressed in the Released quantity unit.
Actual run time

The actual time tracked for the machine, tool, or labor resource.

The time is expressed in the Run time unit.

Actual setup time

The actual time tracked for preparing the machine, tool, or labor resource before production started.

The time is expressed in the Setup time unit.

Capability level

The level of expertise needed to perform the operation.

The level should reflect the expected behaviors, practices, and processes that are needed to reliably and sustainably perform the operation to produce the finished item.

Operation description

The production operation name.

The name could describe what the operation involves.

Resource The code identifying the resource that performed the production operation.
Run time unit

The unit of time used for the production costs calculations.

Setup time unit

The unit of time used for the production costs calculations.

Work order number

The work order reference.
