Indirect cost section
After defining indirect cost origins, you can create indirect cost sections.
An indirect cost section applies a total percentage based on a list of cost origins and their related percents. The percentage is calculated using one of two methods: cumulated or compound.
Indirect cost sections are used to apply a value to costs not directly related to a resource such as insurance, energy, maintenance, and so on.

Create an indirect cost section
- Select Create to define a new indirect cost section.
- Enter a unique name and ID.

You have 2 options for Calculation method:
Cumulated: The Total percentage is calculated by summing the individual percents.
Compound: The Total percentage is calculated by using the result of the first percent applied as the starting point for the next percent calculation.
Add the indirect cost
The Details grid displays the indirect cost origins and their percentages to calculate the indirect cost section total value.
- Select Add to add a new indirect cost origin row.
- Enter or select an Indirect cost origin in the first column.
- Enter a percent.
- Repeat as needed and remember to save your work.
Delete an indirect cost origin
You can delete an indirect cost origin by selecting the Delete icon on the row.
The Total percentage field updates automatically to account for the missing row value.
Edit or delete an indirect cost section
You can edit any field at any time.
You cannot delete an indirect cost section if it is applied to a resource.
