Location type

To control what the locations in a storage zone are used for, you need to use location types. You assign a location type to a location.

Create a location type

  1. Enter a name, an ID, a description, and a category for the location type. The category is for reference only.
  2. Enter the maximum weight, volume, and number of items that can be stored in a location defined by this location type. When you select the location type for a Location, the Weight, Volume, and Capacity fields automatically populate with this information.
  3. Select the Accepted, Quality control, or Rejected checkboxes to indicate whether locations defined by this location type accept stock marked as Accepted (A), Quality control (Q), or Rejected (R).
  4. Save.

Edit a location type

You can edit any of the fields associated with a location type, even when it is assigned to locations.

Delete a location type

You cannot delete a location type that is assigned to a location.
