In the selection panel, use the dropdown menu to search by type:
- All

Create a posting class
Before you can assign accounts to a posting class, the accounts need to exist in Sage Distribution and Manufacturing Operations.
Create a posting class to define the account allocation terms.
- Select the Add icon.
- Select the Type from the Type dropdown field. If you select Item, the Item type field is available. You can select as many types as needed from the dropdown:
- Stock item
Non-stock item
Service item
Landed cost item - Enter a unique name and save your changes.
- You need to add at least 1 line before saving.
- You can select Add lines above the grid and manually enter details on the line. Or, you can copy lines from existing classes by using the Select lines button.
-
If the related posting class definition on a line includes an additional criteria, you need to enter the account details. Those lines display a More actions menu at the end of the line.
From the More actions menu, select Add detail. In the new nested line, enter the Tax, Tax category, and Account. The Account ID displays automatically based on the selected account.
You can add more nested lines as needed. The dedicated account or accounts can be used in a journal entry line according to the underlying tax type for the transaction.
You can still enter an account for the posting class definition. If the tax in the nested line is not found, the account is used as a fallback value.
Delete a posting class or linked account
When you delete a posting class, that also deletes the link between an account and an entry.
You have the option to delete individual accounts linked to a posting class.
