Journal entry type

Journal entry types define the journal transaction. They are delivered by Sage. You do not need to change settings like name, legislation, document type, or movement type. The references in the Lines setup grid are also delivered by Sage.

You can disable a journal entry type.

French and German legislations

When the tax management for a general ledger account is set to tax, excluding tax, or including tax, the journal entry line includes a tax icon at the end of the line. Selecting the icon opens a window that displays the tax detail for the journal entry.

For all legislations that integrate with Sage Intacct, the tax management setting is Other and the tax icon on journal entry lines does not display.

The Line setup grid displays contra account information including Contra account type and Contra account amount type. Contra account information defaults from the posting class linked to the account type. This information also displays on the related journal entry.
